C# Software Developer – C# and/or C++ (UK remote)

Our client is deeply experienced with the challenges of handling healthcare data at petabyte scale. Their mission is to deliver data access by design to health innovators, catalysing data-driven health and wellness. Working with data from over 3,000 hospitals and imaging centres around the world - they are building solutions that will revolutionise how data will be used for delivering cures. 

The C# Software Developer role:

  • You will be involved in developing new software products, working on techniques for structured and unstructured data extraction, conversion and standardisation
  • You will be working to maintain and expand the functionality of an existing health data management code base and create new software solutions to extract, collate and analyse data at the petabyte level
  • You will engage with the company’s application life cycle management process which uses Azure DevOps and implement best practices needed to deliver best in class, quality code, on time

Required Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a software developer / software engineer
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of C# and/or C++ predominantly in a Windows environment
  • Used integrated development environments, source control systems, release management and installer package creation, preferably Visual Studio and GIT
  • A passion for emerging technologies like machine learning and artificial intelligence
  • Good appreciation of Windows GUI development

Nice to Haves:

  • Understanding of databases such as SQL, ODBC and NoSQL big data concepts, file system types and data compression techniques
  • Experience with healthcare data content, storage systems and network transfer protocols such as DICOM, HL7 or FHIR would be particularly beneficial
  • A good understanding of networking technologies and associated data transport protocols
  • An understanding of embedded systems such as touch display integration
  • Linux experience, including interaction with low level time sensitive driver interaction
  • Good debugging techniques particularly in relation to a multi-threaded application environment
  • Use of GPU acceleration techniques for data analysis
  • Understanding of graphical image formats such as TIFF, JPEG etc
  • Agile development principles and exXtreme Programming techniques such as TDD, CI
